Homemade Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt (a pinch)
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • (1) 9 in. pie shell

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Mix in eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth
  3. Add vanilla, mix well
  4. Add flour and salt, mix well
  5. Add buttermilk and mix until thoroughly combined
  6. Pour mixture into pie shell – just to the top.
  7. Bake at 300° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  8. Allow pie to set before serving.
  9. Store in refrigerator, covered.
